The Dive Control Specialist program is designed to teach you to become an effective diving leader.? During the course, you will study advanced diving academics and develop leadership level diving and rescue skills.? You will learn to take charge of groups and lead certified divers underwater.? In addition you will learn to assist Instructors with Open Water Courses, and to conduct Snorkeling and Scuba Skills Updates on your own.
The Dive Control Specialist (DiveCon) course will challenge you with new techniques, skills and knowledge and provide the foundation you need to become an effective, perhaps exceptional leader in the dive community.? Once a DiveCon, you will be able to earn an income using your new skills, even start an exciting career in diving. ? However, the most rewarding and motivating aspect of being a DiveCon may be the opportunity to touch people's lives and influence their enjoyment of scuba diving.

Log at least 60 open water dives prior to start of class.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a Current Medical Exam.
Have completed US Emergency First Aid & CPR.
Be a Certified Rescue Diver.
Own Scuba Equipment.

The DiveCon course consists of academic and water work, lecture and water observations, and lecture and water presentations.? In each learning situation the same material is covered in a different way, providing a well rounded educational experience
Academic work introduces new materials and provides a foundation of knowledge.?You will attend lectures, watch videos, read manuals, and answer review questions.? Each component reinforces the other, creating a total teaching system.
You will practice scuba and rescue skills in both the pool and open water.? This sharpens skill you already have and teaches new ones.?
??? As a DiveCon, you not only set an example for students and certified divers, but you also demand increased performance from your equipment as you assist divers in need.? As a group leader, you cannot afford the embarrassment, or inconvenience of having equipment that does not function properly.? Work with your instructor, so that your personal equipment needs are meet before class.

??? To make the decision to become a scuba instructor one could have different reasons.? You may want to pursue a career in diving full time.? You may want to become an instructor for personal development.? Or, you may want to be more involved in the sport by teaching scuba part time.
Whatever your reason, by committing to become a scuba instructor, you should know and understand your purpose and role.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Help students learn course information effectively
- Help students develop appropriate skills
- Prepare students emotionally and mentally for scuba
- Assist students in transferring learning to an application environment.
Simply stated, you would become responsible for the safety and future of each new diver Here at US Scuba Center we will show you the way how.

Now that you have completed your Associate Instructor Class you're now ready to take that last step in becoming a Open Water Instructor.? This class is to insure you are ready to complete the students Open Water Certification process.? This evaluation class will test the student in both classroom confined water and open water presentation.

Completed Associate Instructor Program

The Open Water Instructor Evaluation is the last step in becoming a certified Instructor.? In this course you will be tested on your Classroom, Open Water and Confined Water presentations.
