So, "What's Next?"
One of the most exciting things about scuba diving is that it offers all divers the opportunity for further exploration and training after Open Water Certification plus the opportunity to meet other divers with similar interests. US Scuba Center's Advanced Open Water Course is a full weekend of diving designed for both the beginner and experienced diver to enhance your experience and knowledge of diving for practical application in the water. After the class you are rewarded with an Advanced Open Water Certification
Card once you have logged 24 dives. This is a fun course that helps you sharpen your diving skills under the supervision of an instructor. Training areas you are introduced to include:
* Natural Navigation Compass * Navigation *Night Diving
*Deep Diving at instructor discretion * Wreck Diving at instructor discretion
* Search And Light Salvage
Advanced Open Water Classes
Advanced Open Water Classes are offered on select Trips. Your class is kept small (a maximum 8 divers) so that everyone can receive all of the personal attention they need. The cost for the complete course is $400.00. This fee is for instruction only and does not include any rentals, trip costs, etc. The cost of the student kit is additional so that couples or families can share a student kit.
Before the Class
Open water Certification, Juniors can now take this
course and receive a Junior Advanced Open Water Certification.
There is one class session prior to the Advanced Open
Water Dives. Prior to that class you will need to carefully
read the Textbooks and complete all of the Knowledge Reviews.
Diving Day One
The Morning begins with a brief review of any questions from the knowledge Reviews. The morning dives begin with an orientation to the dive sites during which you will complete Advanced Open Water Training Dive 1 on Natural Navigation. After lunch or a short break, Advanced Open Water Training Dive 2 on Compass Navigation is completed. The afternoon will end early, because Advanced Open Water Training Dive 3, your
Night Dive, will begin one hour before sunset.
Diving Day Two
The morning begins with Advanced Open Water Training Dive 4, your Deep Dive. In diving a deep dive is any dive that exceeds 60 ft. After lunch or a short break, Advanced Open Water Training Dive 5, the Wreck Dive is completed. The course is concluded with Advanced Open Water Training Dive 6, a Search and Light Salvage Dive. This is a fun dive where you and your buddy search for an object hidden by your Instructor and bring it to the surface using lift bags provided by the instructor.
After the Class
After completing your Advanced Open Water Class, you will need to have your logbook completed and sign off on your student folder. Once you have signed your student folder, we can send for your Advanced Open Water Certification card. Your certification card will be returned electronically.
